My work is a reflection of myself and my culture and to accomplish that I decided to do two separate projects: an Infinity zoom digital painting and Comic strips. In my painting I hope to explore my identity through the life experiences of my grandmother, my symbol of strong cultural ties, and myself as a shifting figure between Chicago and Puerto Rico. I want to share my story not only as a teaching method but also in hopes someone can see themselves in my work and feel represented.
For the comic strip I plan to integrate Puerto Rican history and history of resistance in a charming and fun way with the narration of my two characters Coco the Coqui and Lucia the parrot.
